Endometriosis is the presence of the endometrial like tissue outside the uterus, and occasionally in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, lungs and nerves which can result into chronic and inflammatory reaction. This can cause pain and discomfort during menstruation, vaginal deep penetration with sex, gynecological examinations, inserting tampons and can also result into infertility.
Any of below factors can lead to the abnormality of the suppleness of the levator ani muscles and the connective tissues causing failure to the support and resulting into prolapse of the organ.
